What We Are About
In the area of early childhood education "Small World" is considered a Christian outreach with an emphasis on Christian love.
Personnel are chosen with the understanding that our faith shows in our lives and is generally "caught" rather that "taught." The staff enjoys creating an environment of:
Fun without destruction;
Learning to take turns and share;
and
Discovering the world of the child.
"Small World" is a branch of the Education Commission under the auspices of the Board of Trustees at the Santa Clarita United Methodist Church.

Our Location
We are located at the corner of Bouquet Canyon Road and Espuella Drive on the campus of the Santa Clarita United Methodist Church at 26640 Bouquet Canyon Road, Santa Clarita , CA 91355.
Our Philosophy
"Small World Preschool" provides an atmosphere of free "play." Activities are geared to specific areas of development indicative of children's own individual "small worlds" - constantly striving to make their own "small world" bigger, better and of benefit to them. "Small World" Preschool welcomes children of every race, color and creed.

Our weekday preschool strives to provide a cheerful Christian atmosphere conducive to creating free expression geared to the following areas:

Our Staff
Our staff is chosen with the utmost care. These are special people who strive to create an atmosphere of love and care. They create a stimulating climate where your child can find infinite worth.
Each staff member
- Has college training complying with the state requirements for early childhood education
- Attends SCAEYC workshops
- Has first-aid/CPR training; and
- Has a cheery personality and is suited to work with young children.

For Parents
There is an orientation meeting held at the beginning of the school year. Parents are invited to participate in enrichment programs and activities.
Parents on a rotating basis provide snacks with special
care given to providing nutritional food.
Sessions
Our School year coincides with the Saugus Union School District public school calendar.
Classes Offered:
- 2 year old from 9:00 to 12:00 Monday and Wednesdays
- 3 year old from 9:00 to 12:00 or 12:30 to 3:30 Tuesday and Thursdays
- 4 year old from 9:00 to 12:00 or 12:30 to 3:30 Monday, Wednesday & Friday
or Tuesday and Thursdays
- 5 year old from 12:30 to 3:30 Monday, Wednesday & Friday
A Parent-tot Program is offered four times a year, once a week for eight-week sessions.
Extended Day Care is available, from 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., space permitting.
