Youth Ministry is ministry to, with, & by youth. Our primary task in youth ministry is:
- to love youth where they are;
- to encourage a dynamic relationship with God through Jesus Christ & the Holy Spirit;
- to provide opportunities for nurture & growth
- to promote the hearing of God's call through prayer, study, & worship;
- to urge youth & adults to continue the journey of faith through service in their church, community, & world.
We have a wide variety of programs and activities for our youth to participate in.

The Junior High UMYF (7th & 8th school grades) meet in the Junior High Room (below the Sanctuary). The Senior High UMYF (grades 9 through 12) meet in the Youth Building at the far North side of the facility. The two groups occasionally meet together for trips or large group events. Games included.

Yearly Local Events
Confirmation By the time a young person reaches 7th grade he or she has the opportunity to learn in more detail what it means to be a Christian & a member of the Church. Through a series of steps, study & introspection one makes their own decision to CONFIRM their baptism and to join the congregation of the Methodist Church as a full, participating member.
Youth Sunday Each year the youth do the entire worship service on Youth Sunday. From singing or scripture reading to delivering a message, they serve the Lord and their Church family with gladness & joy!
Summer Programming During the summer vacation from school many families take vacations, their schedules become unpredictable, and youth programs change a bit. We meet one to three times a week to go to the beach, have a BBQ and Discussion, and to go on trips to fun places like Knotts or Raging Waters or have pool parties.

The next gathering is scheduled for 2011.
At Santa Clarita United Methodist Church we continue to look for opportunities for youth to participate in the life & ministry of the Church, as well as occasions for serious study, service, fellowship, mission & worship. Youth also serve on many of the Church committees and Commissions, including the Administrative Council and, of course, the COYM (Council on Youth Ministries).
