At Santa Clarita United Methodist Church we happen to agree. There are many kinds of groups here and all are encouraged to find a group that fits your style and needs. Santa Clarita United Methodist Church offers many programs and events throughout the year for adults and families to come participate and enjoy. The purpose of Family Ministries and the Adult Ministry is to provide events and activities that foster fellowship and faith development for families and adults.
Family Fun Night - Family Fun Night is a night we come together as families for a meal then break up into groups for study: a men's group, a women's group, a youth group and a children's group. This gives us all time to be together for a meal whiling also giving us the opportunity to grow in our faith. Sunday's at 5pm.
Summer Fun Fest - A FREE yearly event to kick-off the summer with carnival games, dunking booth, food, and more! An event for the whole family to celebrate the end of the school year.
Trunk or Treat - An annual event where kids are safe to come and trick-or-treat in the Church parking lot out of decorated cars. A fun maze and free hot dogs are available for your family's enjoyment as well!
Living Nativity - Our annual drive-thru in the Church parking lot of live people creating the Nativity scene.
Advent Wreath Workshop - Our annual workshop event where the whole family can come and make their own advent wreath!
Rise-Up with Jesus - Easter event for families where stations are set-up for your children to learn about the meaning behind Easter.
Joyful Bible Study
They meet every Tuesday morning @ 9:30am in the Fireside Room for study, prayer and fellowship. All women are invited to come and bring friends to this lively group.
Wesleyan Spiritual Group
This is a new small group based on John Wesley’s model of an accountability group. They meet at Panera Bread Company on McBean Pkwy. at 7:45-8:45 on Tuesdays. Pastor Melissa is this group’s leader. Please contact Pastor Melissa at the church office for more information.
Five Alive is a mixed group of adults that meets at noon most Sundays. They use Bible studies, devotionals and books as study guides. All adults are invited to join in the spirited discussions by this group. More information is available by calling Candy Holsenbeck-Smith at
This group of families with children who are college age or older, meets monthly for social activities.
Women’s Book Club
Meets 3rd Wednesday of the month at 7:00 P.M. in the Teacher’s Lounge to discuss the book of the month. All adults are encouraged to read the books and come for the discussions. Call the church office for more information.
Dinners for 6 Plus "Food, Fun and Fellowship"
We invite singles and couples to join. There are usually 5 groups, each month one person volunteers for the next dinner, one each month for usually 6 months, the host prepares the main meat dish, and other guests provide side dishes, salad, dessert, appetizers, etc.
Ladies out to Lunch Bunch
Meet monthly to enjoy a good lunch and enjoy fellowship.
POLO - Parents of Little Ones - This is a group who meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays at 6:00pm in Founder's Hall. It is specifically for parents with children age 5 and under. They meet for dinner and then have a discussion about parenting issues. Childcare is provided. Commission on the Status and Role of Women is a group of energetic women who sponsor the annual Women’s Retreat and raise money for the local Domestic Violence Center through fundraisers. They have craft days and a craft boutique, wrapping parties and fundraisers at local restaurants. This is a fun group that all women are invited to join.
Blanket Brigade meets every 2nd Saturday from 9-11 am. They knit, crochet and cut blankets from fleece. The blankets they make are given to various social service agencies. This is a fun group for anyone who likes to make blankets or who is interested in learning. This group also takes donations of yarn, fleece and crochet thread. Family Support Group
This group provides support for families during times of need or crisis by providing meals and/or transportation. You can be a part of this group by providing prepared meals, giving gift cards to restaurants and grocery stores, providing transportation to doctor’s visits and being willing to pick kids up from school. They are the greeters every Sunday at both church services. They distribute WELCOME packets and contact absent
members to let them know they are missed. They also serve luncheons at new members functions. This committee meets on the third Wednesday of each month at 7:00 p.m. in the Youth Building and new members are always welcome. Prayer Group meets on the first and third Sunday of each month 10 minutes after the end of the 9:00 service. Anyone and everyone is

Good Time Bowlers
The team bowls in a league at Santa Clarita Lanes on Soledad Canyon Rd. The league consists of six 5-person teams with a total of 30 bowlers and they bowl on Tuesday nights.
