Kristi Smith grew up in La Habra, CA. After traveling around the US and Canada with Fullerton College Concert Choir for way too long, she decided to settle down and graduated from Chapman University with a BA in liberal studies. Kristi also holds a Master of Divinity from Southern Methodist University Kristi met her husband Jeff while working at Disneyland and two years after they were married a job moved them to Richardson, TX. After 15 years in Texas and a 5-year sojourn in Oklahoma, Jeff’s job finally brought them back home to California. Kristi and Jeff have 3 children, Kallie, Aurora and Ty.

Brandon Gonsalves was raised as a Youth in Santa Clarita UMC. From his humble beginnings at a 7th grade BBQ, he realized how important our Youth were to the life of the church, and he vowed to run the best Youth program the world had ever seen! Along with his lovely partner and wife Gabrielle Gillette and puppy mascot Saito the Jackapoo, we invite all Youth from 7th-12th grade to come and have fun and fellowship with us!

Christine Tavares-Mocha has been the director at Valencia High School for 12 years and the SCUMC music director since 2011. She received her B.A. in Vocal Performance from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and is a candidate presently for her Master's in Choral Conducting from Cal State Los Angeles. Most important, she was a member of the SCUMC Littlest Disciples Choir at age 6! Christine performs frequently throughout the United States as a studio singer, jazz and cabaret vocalist. She lives in Santa Clarita with her amazing husband Scott Mocha, and their two loves; Jack the Poodle and Hurley the Lab. In their spare time Scott and Christine like to hike and love boxing!

Kathy Gray moved to Saugus with husband, Charlie and their daughters Stefanie and Amy, January 7, 1987 and joined Santa Clarita UMC in March of 1987. She spent most of her time as a stay at home mom until going to work as a bank teller in 1988. In 1989, she came to work at SCUMC as the receptionist and eventually as the Church's secretary. Kathy and Charlie were married in 1971 after being High School sweethearts. They have 2 grown daughters and 5 beautiful grandchildren. Kathy enjoys candle making, reading, assorted crafts, music and spending time with her family.

The Reverend Melissa Roux MacKinnon is a native Southern Californian, born and raised in Glendale, California. She has lived most of her life in Southern California except for living in London and then spending seven years in North Carolina. Melissa received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from California State University Bakersfield in 1990. She had a short career working in the mental health field before hearing the call to ordained ministry. In 1999 she graduated with her Master of Divinity from Duke and was ordained a Deacon in the North Carolina Conference of the United Methodist Church. In July of 2010 she was appointed as Lead Pastor of Santa Clarita UMC.
